For about 15-20 students the hr interview was taken twice.

I will tell you all that the HR said to me during the interview.

Saw the resume and asked about my leadership skills (related to what i wrote in the resume)

Did you ever face any difficult situation?

Tell an example where u showed innovative skill?

Do you have any questions?

On which areas should i concentrate more to improve myself?

Why is Infosys your dream company?

Tell me something about yourself which is not written in your resume.

As i mentioned that C and C++ languages are my area of interest, so he asked should i ask questions in C and C++?

He didnt ask more than a couple of questions though.

What is the necessity of pointers in C language explicitly or implicitly?

Can't we have C language without the pointers?

Tell a real time example where we can return multiple values by pointers.

Tell me about one situation where you were not successful?

Do you have any questions to ask? I said on which areas should i concentrate more to improve myself?

Infosys Campus Placement Paper:
A total of 200 people appeared for the test out of which 132 got selected for the interview. 115 students finally got seleted in infosys.

Written Exam Pattern and Questions
Analytical Section
30 questions in 40 minutes

The analytical part is not that hard. Its quite simple. All were multiple choice - objective type questions in the written test part.
Questions:
1. 10 questions puzzle type- prepare analytical problem from Puzzle test R.S Aggarwal. Baron's 12th edition can also help in the preparation.

2. 5 questions from syllogism. R.S Aggarwal Verbal Non-Verbal
3. 5 questions of type - Conclusion
4. 5 questions of figures - odd one out -
5. 5 Q DI - pie chart type. You can practise these from the quantitative part of rs aggarwal.

Verbal Section
40 questions in 35 minutes
There were sentence correction type, prepositions, reading comprehensions, Fill in the blanks, etc. type of questions in the Infosys english language verbal part.

Infosys Paper Interview Experience
They took little technical.
The questions asked to me were some general knowledge ones like
1. Some Countries and currencies
2. States of India and Capitals
3. Pesident of India and presidential candidates of USA

Remember that you have to answer the names respectfully like Mrs. or Shrimati Pratibha

INFOSYS Placement Question PAPER for 20th MARCH 2008

Sections of the Infosys Written aptitude whole testpapers

1. Logical and critical reasoning test 30 questions 40 minutes
2. Verbal reasoning and English test 40 questions 35 minutes

Infosys Logical and critical reasoning test
1-5 Questions - Based on Three ladies having some money and a game played. (These are the puzzle test questions of R.S aggrawal verbal & non verbal type)
2-10 Questions - The questions were figure related. Find the correct figure in sequence.
11-15 Questions -
16-20Q --- The question was related to DI in which a table showing number of students in different branches during 6 years were given. Had to do some calucations and answer the questions. It was a bit time consuming.
21-25 Questions - Puzzle type. 5 people A,B,C,D,E ,F,Gand H are sitting around a table.
26-30 Questions - Syllogism type. 6 statements were given with four combination choices like BGD, BDG etc. Find the correct logical combination.

Just go through the RS Aggarwal book for logical, verbal and non verbal reasoning.

Infosys Verbal reasoning and English test
1 - There were two paragraphs.
2 - Questions on sentence correction. Had to find correct replacement for underlined part in passage.
3 - Questions on finding the correct sentence among 4 given sentences.
4 - Questions on filling up the blanks with suitable grammatical words (Prepositions, tenses, etc.)
5 - Questions related to theme dectecion.

Most of the persons are eliminited in the Aptitude test. If u are selected in the aptitude test, then the rest is quite easy.

There were 5 panels for HR Interview.

But u dont need to worry much about reading that book unless you want to go for MBA Exams like CAT Entrance Test Exam, XAT SNAP FMS CET MBA Entrance Test Paper)

INFOSYS PAPER ON 6th MARCH AT KOLKATA

Poll campus interview of Infosys in college campus on 6th March,2008. Almost 375 students from 5 different colleges attended this campus interview. The selected ones will be provided training at the infosys training centre at mysore.

Students Select in interview - 14

Selection Procedure:
Students from any stream can sit in Infosys. There are no direct Technical rounds in Infosys.

The whole Selection Process contains two section Aptitude test.
>Analytical & Logical reasoning: (30 questions : 40 minutes)
>English section: (40 question : 35 minutes)

The cutoff is said to be 60% cutoff in first Section, & 50% from second section.

After Aptitude test is the HR Interview

I am giving an idea about the questions as i dont remember the whole of the paper.

>Syllogism: (5 questions) – These are very easy to solve.

Question Pattern: Statement: All A is B. Some B is C.

>Figure Series: (5 questions) - These are given nicely in RS Aggarwal

>Dice & Cube Problem: (5 questions) - In The aptitude questions, the problem was as follows:

A cube is given and is painted on six sides with six different colours.
Red is adjacent of yellow and green.
Pink is opposite of yellow.
Brown is in the bottom face.

Now Q:1) Which color is in the top face?
Q:2) Which color in the face opposite of Red?

There is a cube and it is cut in 27/64/125 equals pieces of cube. Now two faces are colored with black, two green, two red.
Q: No of cubes which are painted three faces. No. of uncolored cubes.

>Infosys Puzzles Questions: (5 questions) – Puzzles makes everyone puzzeled. Read the question carefully draw the diagram, matrix and put the data one by one according to given information.
>Data Interpretation: (5 question) – A chart, graph, table will be given. You have to solve some problems on statistics. Its is too time consuming process. Follow the Option elimination process.

English Section:

>Two passages and 5 question from each passages:
>Sentence Correction:
>Fill in the Blanks: English Section questions on preposition, phrase, idioms.
>Theme Detection.

Keep yourself cool. Be friendly and polite with them.

First Interview
Me: Good afternoon sir, May I come in?
HR: Yes , and be seated.
Me: Thank you sir.
HR: R u tired for waiting long time?
Me: Not at all sir.
HR: What is the meaning of your name?
Me: Told
HR: Show your group work capability.
Me: Told about the project.
HR: Which quality of a leader do you find in yourself.
Me: Told about my cooperation, taking on challenges, etc.
HR: What was the crucial decision in your life that changed yourself?
Me: Told something. I hadnt prepared. Say anything positive.

Questions on teamwork and leadership.

Second interview
HR: Sorry for taking your second interview.
Me: My pleasure sir. ( Show good behaviour )
HR: What is your week point?
HR: What is your reaction when one rectify ur week points?
HR: How do you react when a misunderstanding happens in group work?
HR: Give some example on you real life.
Etc.

HR: what is your favourite (best) subject?
Now few questions about your best subject. Tell any subject (they dont care much about it)
So they may ask you to tell about anything currently going on in that field.

HR: nice interview.

INFOSYS Placement Question Paper On 26th March Held at LUCKNOW
Held at SRMCEM, LUCKNOW.
Around 700 students attended the test and out of them 62 were finally selected.
The Selection consists of 2 Rounds
a) Written Test
b) HR Interview
Written test consists of two phases
1) Infosys APTITUDE Section:
30 questions in 40 minutes..
5 questions - arithmetical reasoning
5 questions - series completion
5 questions - puzzles
5 questions - data interpretation (graphical)
2) Replace an underlined sentence with another one which is of the same meaning from the given 4 alternatives.
3) Fill in the blank with correct alternative. (Grammatical questions, tense, prepositions, etc.)
4) Derive conclusion from small passages.
5 Questions on data sufficiency.
Rest are not available (dont remember) Just go through RS Aggarwal. Its enough for preparing for the written part.
2) Verbal Reasoning (English) :-
Time management plays an important role. The verbal section is important.
1) Two RC’s,
5) Select the correct statement. (Again grammar related english language questions) Such placement paper questions are not difficult. Just require little bit preparation.
INTERVIEW:
UP Colleges participating included srmcem, MPEC, NIEC, BBDNITM, etc
The interviewer was of 40 - 50 years age.

INFOSYS PLACEMENT PAPER : 21st FEBRUARY AT JAIPUR

hi guys.... this is Nirbhika Arya from jaipur...finally got selected in infosys...it was held in jaipur at skit ,jaipur on 21st feb...it is not difficult as it is assumed to be... it started at 8 in the morning with the ppt.....then at 11 we had our wriiten test...first was the LR paper which had 30 ques...it was pretty easy...it includes

1. syllogisms(easy)
2.odd one out(picture ques)
3.data sufficieny...(they are not as easy as they look)
4.data interpretation(pie chart)....long calculations but easyyyyy....

then we had our english paper...which was pretty lengthy.. It had RCs and sentence correction...it was a 30 min paper..it was allover at around 12.30...

the results were announced at 6.30pm..and out of 1400 students 150 were selected for HR...i believe the cut off was around 14 out of 30 in the LR section....

the next day was the HR....there were 12 panels...they were wasking questions like

1.describe yourself?

2.tel me how your parents motivate you?

3.your favorite movie?

4.how many squares are there on a chess board?

5.if a man eats 100 bananas in 5 days and eats 6 more than previous day..how many bananas he eats on the first day??

6.tel me abt your college?

7.why software development?

8.why infosys?

this was my experience.. and finally around 70 students were selected out of 150....

so all the best...and let me tel u it is very easy...just be confident and u wil definitely make it...

INFOSYS PAPER ON 23rd FEBRUARY AT JAIPUR

Hello everyone..Infosys conducted aptitude test at GIT Jaipur for 13 colleges and at ARYA Jaipur for another set of colleges on 23rd simultaneously.1100(approx.) students appeared after aptitude test 143 were selected after Aptitude test n finally 80 got thru. Fortunately i made it !!

Here r the details of the test conducted at GIT.
Phase1 :- Aptitude test (Logical reasoning) followed by English test.
Phase 2:- One-to-one Interviews (H.R.).

Aptitude test :- 30 (6*5) questions in 40 minutes.
Q1. A puzzle on sequences...some statements were given like x comes b4 y n y two places b4 z......so complete order had to be determined...and then reversed to get ranks of each person...set of 5 questions on this...easy one.
Q2. Series...to spot the odd one out of five given figures....only one was tough..4 were very easy.
Q3. Data Sufficiency...which of the given statements r sufficient to obtain some results...1st,2nd,both or none..a simple question
Q4. Data Interpretation....tough one...comparisions had to be made n units like tonnes,troy....were used to specify amounts of rice,gold...and others....in 5 years n so on...questions were based on comparisions of these quantities...not very easy.
Q5. Another puzzle....whew!!mind boggling......some details were given and for each person their room no.,city,course had to be determined...conditions were like...these ppl stay from room no.504 to so on and x can't stay with y z dates one who is pursuing chemistry but not one form calcutta...n so on....actually analysing the data was difficult b'coz of the bulk of conditions given....tough!!
Q6. Syllogism....very easy.

English test :- 40 questions in 30 minutes.
2 Passages - a set of questions from each....i would like to suggest tht one must read the question and then find it's answer from the passage don't waste time reading the passage completely...it saves u a lot of time.
5-6 sentence completion with 4 options each....
10 find the most appropriate sentence out of 4 options.
10 a part of sentence was underlined and a better way to express it had to be selected from four given options
~10 small passages and some inferences or conclusions or one supporting what has been stated in the passage had to be determined.

Phase 2:- H.R. Interview...but u might be asked some technical general questions...but tht's a rare case.
It was a general interaction...but please be ready to talk about all that u have mentioned in ur resume...and current affairs !!all state capitals,cm's,union cabinet ministers...and recent happenings like blasts in samjhauta express....n if u r a girl be ready to talk about general problems tht women face today(common question)...wht wud u do to rid the society of these...be sure u r mentioning ur true hobbies,pls dont fake or else u r in for some serious trouble...be ready to talk in detail about them...all tht u've done (extra-curricular) in both school and college.I was asked two puzzles...u might or might not be asked...depends.... i was asked simple ones.
1. a series...fill the blank:-
1 1 1 1
1 3 5 7
1 5 13 25
1 7 25 _

Answer:- 63 (25+25+13)

2. U r given 9 9's make 100 out of them.
Answer:- (9*9) + 9 + 9 + 9/9

just note that i was given strictly 1 minute for each.

Finally the interviewer asked me if i wanted to ask any questions....i asked two questions,he explained patiently....and i was asked to leave...!!
I was often contradicted by the interviewer and often he tried to irritate me by looking at his watch again n again (as if he wants to finish it off asa possible n show his disinterest,just be indifferent and continue answering whatever he asks...)but somehow i managed to be calm...tht seemed to work..and don't be rigid be ready to listen to wht he says and respond too..

I wasn't very sure i would make it after the interview cause i was a bit exasperated....but all's well that ends well!!! well said!!
guys just remember one thing if u've not prepared well for the aptitude it'll not be a breeze to clear it as i've already mentioned how few r shortlisted...but if ur IQ is reasonably good there r no reasons why u wouldn't make it...and keep telling urself i'll do it..n sure enough u will!!

INFOSYS PAPER ON 23rd FEBRUARY AT JAIPUR.

The pattern was exactly the same as we see in exams held in 2007.

The written exam was divided into two sections :

1) Aptitude (Refer VERBAL & NON VERBAL RS AGARWAL)
2) English (was general, but level is tough).

To sum up the process, we were firstly asked to fill a simple application form.

Do remember to take a passport size photo as it is required to be submitted along with the form.

After that we were given the aptitude paper first.

APTITUDE

It comprised of 30 questions to be solved in a span of 40 mins.

As opposed to the regular trend we did not get any ques from cube and dices, though u should prepare it.

The sections we got are as follows :

1)Puzzle – Consist of 7 to 8 students living in same hostel . Names of all students r given, with their height and room no. but in jumbled way. U hav to find the tallest, shortest & respective room no. (Do chapter 6 PUZZLE Test frm RS AGARWAL)

2)Series - We were given 5 figures, we had to find the odd figure in series(Do SERIES, analogy-PART II Non verbal reasoning RS AGARWAL)

3)Data Sufficiency (Do DATA SUFFICIENCY-SECTION 1 General mental ability from RS AGARWAL)

4)Data Interpretation - Practice from "quantitative aptitude by RS AGARWAl )

5)Puzzle again.

6)Logical - SECTION-II chapter-1 LOGIC REASONING RS AGARWAL, Mug up all rules given & practice all exercises)

ADVICE :
1)Do not waste time in practicing & attempting the DATA INTERPRETATION as the question u will get to solve will be lengthy. So neither practice it nor waste time attempting it in exam. If u hav time Left only then attempt it.

) Do not practice Shakuntla devi for aptitude test but solve it for interview as in interview they may ask some puzzle to be solved by u.

3)The syllabus i would recommend u - go thru the following chapters :

"VERBAL AND NON VERBAL REASONING BY RS AGARWAL"

SECTION 1 - GENERAL MENTAL ABILITY

1)Blood relations
2)Puzzle test
3)Logical Venn Diagrams (very very easy,don't waste much time)
4)Ranking and time sequence Test
5)Data Sufficiency

SECTION 2 - LOGIC REASONING

1)Logic (just do all exercise and memorise all 9 rules)

SECTION 3 -NON-VERBAL REASONING

1)SERIES (just practice some of them, these kind of questions depend on the fact that waha pe strike hota hain ya nahin.)
2) Analogy
3)Cubes And Dices

"QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE BY RS AGARWAL"

1)Data Interpretation

There were no different sets for the exam,we all got the same set of questions with exactly same choices.

ENGLISH

English -40 Ques- 35mins

Level of questions is very good. I think it is of CAT level.

So practice some topics like prepositions , Error finding, tenses, fill up the blanks from any good English objective book.

1) Two COMPREHENSIONS

You would be asked to answer certain questions based on the comprehension.
First read all the given questions & then read the given comprehension.
COMPLETE 1st comprehension given in the paper, leave the other one and complete other questions. IF time remains answer the leftover comprehension.
2) 5 questions

Four sentences are given , with very less difference , u have to find the most correct one.

3) Some fill in the blanks .

4)Some small paragraphs r given , u have to infer the msg given by that para, 4 options r given choose most appropriate one.

THIS WAS ALL FOR THE WRITTEN.

INTERVIEW

Carry your resume.
The interview is just to gauge your communication skills, basically whether you can speak or not or are confident enough.
Tell us something about Yourself - Mention your current educational status i.e name of college, degree and special. Move on to emphasis on your skills.
Support every skill with an exanple when asked for. For example if you mention you are good at team work.You may be interrupted by the interviewer and asked to explain that why you feel you are good at team work.
Every strength, quality, weakness or any word you utter will be listened to sharply. So be prepared for an example and a statement to support it.
Many students were asked some General Knowledge questions too, a list is added below. Thru these they r not tryin to see how much u know, but how u behave in a stressful situtaion when u don’t know something. Just straight away say NO to any ques of which u dont kno the and of and if u kno any fact related to it produce it.
HOBBIES. Prepare fully all the facts related to ur hobbies , as interwier may ask any ques related to ur hobbies.
As I m from Rajasthan so he asked me about the Maharaja of Udaipur, Jaipur & Jodhpur.
As I m Jain so he asked me some questions related to Jainism, The birth & nirvana place of Mahavir Bhagwan etc.
Also asked me some questions related to Windows Vista & Xp

LOGICAL REASONING

I.there are 6 operations performed to manufacture a computer chip. a,b,c,d,e and f
conditions given
1 only a,b and d are the first opration to be performed
2. operation f is performed immediately after a
3. operation c is performed after f
4. operation e is performed immediately after c

Questions
1 If operation a is performed at the third postion then how many combinations are possible
2. if operation b is performed first then how many combinations are possible
3. if c and e operations are replaced by a single operation g then the total no of possibilities are reduced or increased compared to the previous possibilities
4 if operation a is performed first then how many possible combinations are possible
5 if operationm a costs 1, b costs 2, c costs 3 and so on.. then wat will be the manufacturing cost of 81 chips
for the above questions 4 choices were given

II 5 questions to find the missing diagram in series.

V Data sufficiency as in rs agarwal or other cat books
VI they will give two statements like
a. Some cats are dogs
b. Some dogs are horses
an d then they will give two statements like
A.Some horses are dogs
B.all cats are horses

and u have to say whether
I) A is correct
II)B is correct
III) Both A and B are correct
IV) None of them are correct

Thus 5 questions were given like this. Similar type of questions are available in any cat books or R s agarwal book

hi guys, this s RAGHAV... am from chennai.. i took up infosys test on 27th of feb.. getting placed in infosys is not that easy and not that difficult.. u need some efforts to be put in. but more than that, what helps u is luck.. the written part consists of two sections

REASONING (30 ques in 40 mins)
VERBAL (40 ques in 35 min)

REASONING:
you have to be definitely study these topics even if u leav otherss

1) puzzle test(quite easy)
2) figure series(easy)
3) data sufficiency(v v v important)
4) data interpretation( dont waste time in preparing this, cos what they gonna ask under this will be lengthy to solve n time consuming. have it as a last option)
5) logical reasoning i.e. syllogism( v easy)
6) blood relations

thats it,these r the most important topics. give more srtess on them.. for all these topics refer NON VERBAL AND VERBAL REASONING-R.S.AGARWAL

1) 2 reading comprehension, one very very lengtht, have it as last option...
2) one statement will be given and some part will be underlined and 4 options were given.. u have to correct that sentence from the options which best suits(tricky one)
3)some small passage will be given and u have to infer somrthing 4m tat.. 4 options
4)synonyms, antonyms

so, these r the written part fomats... try to get half the marks in each section...... eg.. 15 outta 30 in reasoning and 20 outta 40 in verbal...
if u clr this, u ll be called 4 HR..... this round merely tests YOUR COMMUNICATION SKILL, how u interact. talk loudly, boldly, clearly.

INTERVIEW QUES ASKD:

1) were u confident of clearing 1st rnd?
2)did u prepare 4 infy test?
3)what books did u refer?
4)strengths and how does it suit u, just give examples(if u say positive attitude as strength, give an example 4 it)
5)wat songs u like?
6)other strenghts?
7)how do u relate it to u?
8)suppose if u rejected this time how will u react?
9)hobbies?
10)ready to go abroad?
11)they gave some puzzle to solve... they dont mind abt its solution. they just see how u PPROACH to it
12)any ques frm ur side?

1. A man plants a small plant in the centre of his garden.It doubles in size everyday.If it covers the entire garden in 50 days then what is the time taken to fill half the garden?

2. There are 3 children A,B,C & they have 20 sweets. 1st type of sweet costs 4 cents,2nd type is 4 for 1 penny ,3rd type is 2 for 1penny. If the total cost is Rs 20 then what is the no of each type of sweet

3. 2 taps A & B so that A fills atank in 10 min & B fills it in 1/4 of an hr. C empties the tank in 7&half min. Tot time to fill the tank with all 3 fning together?

4. Jim ,Harry,Mark &Smith have occupations - policeman,druggist ,grocer&butcher. Under given condns find their respective occupations. -Jim&Harry being neighbours who take turns to drive each other to work -Butcher walks to work. -The only time the policeman saw the grocer was when the former fined the latter for overspeeding. -The policeman does not live near the butcher etc.

9. A thief breaks into jewellery &takes 1/2 +2 present,continues till 5th thief finds 1 diamond remaining

10. Holmes watch 2 min fast,Watson s is 1 min slow.If diff b/w time shown is 1hr then when the watches set before at right time?
