TCS Placement Paper Pattern and Interview May 2008

The TCS recruitment process consists of the following stages:

 Written Test

 Technical Interview

 MR (Managerial)

 HR Interview

TCS WRITTEN TEST

Its an online test. There are multiple choice questions.

The three sections in the tcs test question paper are:

1.  Verbal (Synonyms – Antonyms - Comprehension Passages)

2. Quantitative Aptitude

3. Critical Reasoning

See TCS Placement Papers

TCS Technical Interview:

You must have good knowledge of some subjects which you can tell as your favorites. Programming language questions for C language, Data Structures are helpful. There are many sample technical Tech Interview Questions here

Some important C C++ language programs asked in the TCS placement paper technical interviews are:

Finding and output Prime Numbers from 1 to 100

Sorting Techniques

Factorial using recursion

Fibonacci series

Reverse the string

Palindrome

Data structures concepts

Linked list

Stack, queue Algorithms

Managerial Round:

He may ask you some managerial questions to test your management qualities like time management, leadership, etc.

Tell anything for 5 minutes without stopping.

HR Interview:

The hr interview questions are:

Tell me about yourself

Board marks and degree percentage

About your father, brother, others, etc.

Your hobbies, strengths, weaknesses, etc.

Some other achievements and project related questions.

Finally some questions from your B.tech degree may also be asked.

See HR Interview Questions guide here.

Good luck for your tcs placement paper. You can go through previous exam papers and practise tests in order to be self confident before you appear in your campus or direct company placement test.

Rapidigm Placement Test Paper and Interview

Rapidigm is a US Based company but it is now a part of Fujitsu, Japan.

The company has four centres in India at Pune, Noida, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

The package is low initially but they provide good 6 months training which can be helpful for your career. You also have to sign a bond.
I appeared in the Rapidigm placement paper and here i am giving the sample test question paper, Gd, hr and technical interview experience.

First part is the Written Aptitude test:
Its consists of 60 multiple choice questions to be done in 90 minutes.

The four sections of the Written test are:
Technical
Quantitative
Verbal Reasoning
Analytical Section

Go through RS Aggarwal for others and technical ones require C, C++, DBMS and other computer science , IT related subjects knowledge. After the result, 80 persons were selected from 300.

2. Rapidigm Group Discussion.

Next is the gd where 10 candidates come at a time. There were many topics going on like Prostitution should be legalised or not, Extra Marital Affairs, Reservation, etc. (All daily issues)

Interview Questions:
38 candidates pass through the GD out of 80. Interview part is equally tough and you have to show your skills in order to be selected. Not only good programming skills, but you need to show that you are smart and have good attitude. They need good consultants. See various sample technical hr interview questions and answers here.
So finally 15 students were selected after the interview for rapidigm india. Fujitsu is a large global organisation and it is expanding Rapidigm India. So its a good company to work.

VSNL Technical Interview at Delhi

I am providing some sample interview questions for the vsnl - videsh sanchar nigam limited technical interview held in the year 2007 at Delhi.

This is the second round i.e. is the interview. They took 20 minutes for the interview in all.

A panel of 2 interviewers asked me the following technical questions.

They can ask your favorite subject. You must tell the one for which you are very comfortable.
Some sample questions are:

Whats a network
Give some points of difference between OSI and TCP/IP
Differentiate between switches, bridges and routers.
Which one do you think is the best of all three?
Are LAN and WAN different? If yes, then whats the difference between them?
What is the Capacitance of the coaxial cables.
Note: As you can see most questions are from the electrical and electronics communication background.
Tell me something about the maxwell equations.
Shenon's equations.
What amplitude modulation or AM?
FM, PM (frequency, phase)
What S / N Ratio or signal to noise ratio?
Some communication related basic questions as vsnl is itself a communications related company. Whats GSM, CDMA, Satellite communication, etc.
Different types of amplifiers, etc.

So these are the questions asked in the vsnl placement test paper held at Delhi for B.tech candidates on 31st July 2007. Good luck!

HCL India Placement Paper on 5th July at Chennai

Hi. HCL Technologies came to our college for on campus recruitment of software engineers. There was no technical. Only aptitude was there. But it was tough and based on the Cat paper pattern. CAT based English and maths can be helpful. Some of the problems were like 6 six squares and filling prime nos 2,3,5,7,11,13, and asking there positions. Apart from that there were questions based on data interpretation.
A puzzle as six people are living in six cities riding each riding a different type of vehicle as car, scooter and 2 persons living in city will not ride a car and such. Apart from this we had questions on as 4 numbers (2 odd and 2 even) are multiplied with 2 even then what is difference between odd and even. Given a triangle where there are 5 angles with a small triangle on 1 side of larger triangle Ans:36 deg as (36*5=180)
Another question based on when a appears either b or c appears which is often a repeated question. That is all i remember.
After the aptitude, there was the HR Interview for those who cleared the hcl apti test. The questions they asked were simple and like:
1)Who is your role model?
2)Why do you want to join hcl?
3)Why does hcl needs to recruit you?
4)Are you prepared for relocation?
5)Tell me about yourself?
6)What are u xtra curricular activites?
7)Do you have any questions? You can also see the hr interview guide.
So thats the lucky placement paper of hcl technologies. So finally i got selected in a good IT MNC company.

You can practise other similar tests of it companies and related other placement papers.

HCL Placement Paper at Coimbatore

HCL Technologies India Placement Test held on 15th June at

Here are some questions from the hcl placement paper.

Eg 1. (125)^(2x-3)=(25)^3^-1^2^3^4....^8 then value of x= ans..(-5/2)

2. There are 4 friends, one of them is abhi. Abhi told to one friend, i have more than 1 rupee than you. One friend told to another i have more than 2 rupee than U, one friend told to another i have more than 3 rupees than U and so on up to 6 rupees these statements are drawn from among 4 friends with one another and so on. Now total amount with 4 friends is 27 rupees only what are money with 4 friends? ans: 4,5,8,10

3. if f(x+1)=f(x)+10 then (f(7)-f(3))/((f(6)-f(2))=? ans:(-1)
You have to be thorough with the verbal and non verbal questions. The cat preparation material will surely help. There is mostly aptitude part. 35 questions are there and time is 60 mitutes. The interview is very easy. From my college out of 250 students, 112 are selected for interview and finally 95 are selected.
